Reviewing your CBCT Scan for Significant Systemic Disease

Presented by Dale A. Miles BA, DDS, MS FRCD(C) Dip. ABOMR, Dip. ABOM

Patients with diabetes, cardiovascular disease, headaches and sinusitis are common systemic problems that dentists encounter in their office. Radiographic manifestations for these problems are frequently present and identifiable on cone beam CT images - if you know where to look and what patterns to look for.

Early detection of these changes can help the patient’s primary care physician diagnose the patient’s problem and could even save the patient’s life. This course will review some of the key clinical features of systemic diseases and disorders we will find in our images and give you the tools to recognize the radiographic manifestations on multiple imaging modalities. Come see what you may have been missing and improve your management of patients with “significant systemic diseases”!
